For Thee Journey Ahead

A 45-day morning devotional written from the driver's seat — for truckers, road warriors, and anyone who needs God before the wheels start turning. Every entry below is an excerpt from the book.

Day 3 of 45

Proverbs 3:5–6

Trust the route 3 min

He knows the road you haven't seen yet

Reflection. Before your tires ever touched the pavement this morning, God already mapped the miles ahead. You don't have to see the whole route to trust the One holding the wheel of your life.

Prayer. Father, before I shift into gear, I lean not on my own understanding. Direct my path today — every mile, every mirror, every stop.

Day 9 of 45

Psalm 121:8

Safe travels 3 min

The Lord watches your going out

Reflection. Every pre-trip inspection is a small prayer. The One who watches your going out is the same One waiting at your coming in. You are never driving alone.

Prayer. Lord, watch over my going out and my coming in — from this day forward and forever.

Day 17 of 45

Isaiah 40:31

Long-haul strength 4 min

Renewed for the long haul

Reflection. Fatigue is honest. It tells the truth about how much you've been carrying. But those who wait on the Lord don't just push through — they are renewed. Strength is a gift you receive, not a grit you manufacture.

Prayer. God, when my body is tired and the road stretches on, renew my strength. Let me mount up like the eagle, not crash like a driver running on empty.

Day 22 of 45

Philippians 4:6–7

Peace at the wheel 4 min

Peace that guards the cab

Reflection. The dispatcher's voice, the traffic, the tight dock times — anxiety has plenty of on-ramps. But peace has one entrance: prayer. Hand it to God before you hand it to worry.

Prayer. Lord, I refuse to carry what You never asked me to hold. Guard my heart and my mind with a peace that doesn't make sense.

Day 28 of 45

Lamentations 3:22–23

New mercy at dawn 3 min

Fresh mercy at every sunrise

Reflection. Yesterday's mistakes don't ride shotgun today. His mercies are new every morning — new before the coffee, new before the log book, new before your first mile.

Prayer. Thank You, Lord, that Your compassion has not failed. I receive fresh mercy for this new day.

Day 35 of 45

Joshua 1:9

Courage 4 min

Strong and courageous — still

Reflection. Courage isn't the absence of nerves; it's the presence of God. Wherever this route takes you today, He goes with you. You are not driving into anything He isn't already in.

Prayer. Father, make me strong and courageous. Steady my hands and my heart — You are with me wherever I go.

Day 41 of 45

2 Corinthians 12:9

Grace in the grind 3 min

His grace is enough for this mile

Reflection. You don't need grace for the whole trip at once — only for the mile you're in. And for this mile, His grace is sufficient. Weakness is not disqualification; it's an invitation for His power.

Prayer. Lord, Your grace is enough. In my weakness, be my strength. I trust You for this mile before I worry about the next.

Day 45 of 45

2 Timothy 4:7

Finish the journey 5 min

Finish faithful

Reflection. The goal was never just to arrive — it was to arrive faithful. Keep the faith. Fight the good fight. Finish the journey ahead the same way you started it: with God in the seat next to you.

Prayer. Lord, let me finish faithful. Whatever mile You have me on, help me run it — and drive it — well.

"Every chapter is an invitation to keep moving forward with faith, courage, and purpose."
